I took this photo with the intent of capturing color. My wish was to be able to show different examples of the same color range. I chose my little sister as my model, and had her wear her dress with different colors from the blue-green range. I like how I was able to focus on the pattern of the dress while still capture the bright green grass in the background. I took this photo in my backyard on the grass, a common place, but a beautiful spot for a picture.
My inspiration for this picture was my little brother. He is twelve, and learning to play the drums. He practices all the time, there’s rarely a moment of silence at my house. But in taking this picture, I wanted to focus on the drum sticks, which are a part of the instrument that are over looked. The drums are so big, and make all the noise, that it can be easy to forget that the most important piece is the smallest piece.
This is a picture I took on a snow day this last winter. While I was outside taking pictures of the snow and landscape, I thought about all the people who aren’t fortunate enough to have warm clothes or a home in this cold winter season. So I took off my glove and with my bare scooped up some freezing cold snow. My hand started to turn red are cold. This picture is a reminder to me and hopefully to others that we should always be grateful for what we have, and to not take things for granted.
I took this photo a few years ago while on a family vacation. I took this before I had any experience with photography, and this picture was the reason that I wanted to start exploring photography more. I was proud that I was able to take such a beautiful photo. I absolutely love this picture, because it represents my ultimate goal in life, which is to be married and sealed in the temple. The caption comes from one of my favorite songs, a song that I learned as a young child.
